RLS is a fitting system, not one proprietary press tool
RLS refrigerant press fittings are installed with a range of professional press tools, but only when the tool and jaw combination appears in RLS's approval matrix. The matrix is organized by press-tool model and jaw force class rather than by a single preferred battery platform.
That makes RLS a good example of why the site treats compatibility as a chain: fitting system → tube size → jaw profile → jaw force/interface → press tool. A contractor may already own a suitable tool and need only the correct RLS jaw family.

The Milwaukee M12 / RIDGID RLS jaw documentation conflict
There is one cross-brand relationship we intentionally do not simplify. RLS's current compatibility matrix lists Milwaukee M12 tools with the RIDGID 24 kN jaw family, and Milwaukee's own press-tool compatibility matrix has also listed the RIDGID RLS jaw path. A RIDGID RLS jaw instruction sheet, however, has stated that those jaws do not work with other brands of press tool.
