Which attachments belong on the RP 115?

The operator manual says the RP 115 is designed for RIDGID Mini Series Attachments. Current Mini jaws are listed for Viega ProPress copper/stainless fittings and Viega PureFlow PEX press fittings. The individual jaw must still match both the size and fitting system.

RP 115 vs. RP 251: Mini and Compact are different systems

The RP 115 and RP 251 are both 12V tools, but that does not make their jaws interchangeable. The RP 115 is Mini Series at 15 kN. The RP 251 is Compact Series at 24 kN and RIDGID explicitly states that it accepts all RIDGID Compact Series jaws, rings and actuators.

For repetitive 1/2- and 3/4-inch plumbing or PEX work, the RP 115's smaller tool can be a rational choice. If your work regularly reaches 1, 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 inches, or you need MegaPress, RLS or broader ring options, the RP 251 is the more expandable family.

A documentation discrepancy worth knowing

RIDGID's current product page and catalog sheet describe a 210-degree head swivel. A current operator-manual revision available from RIDGID describes the head as rotating 270 degrees. Because those two official sources disagree, this page does not present one angle as definitively correct for every RP 115 revision.

The discrepancy does not change the attachment-family or size limits above. For physical clearance planning, check the operator manual supplied with your exact tool and catalog number.

When the RP 115 is the right buy

• You primarily press 1/2- and 3/4-inch copper, stainless or PureFlow PEX.
• Access and low tool weight matter more than future large-size expansion.
• You are buying into the Mini Series intentionally and do not expect Compact or Standard jaws to transfer.
• You want a dedicated small service tool rather than one press tool for every system.

If any of those statements is false—especially if 1-inch MegaPress or 1-1/4-inch ProPress is common—the Compact Series deserves a closer look.

Current RP 115 kit and jaw catalog numbers

Exact catalog numbers are useful when checking a used kit, replacing a lost jaw or confirming that an online listing contains Mini rather than Compact hardware. RIDGID's current RP 115 catalog sheet lists 72578 for the 1/2-inch Mini ProPress jaw and 72583 for the 3/4-inch Mini ProPress jaw. Mini PureFlow jaws are listed as 75343 (1/2 inch) and 72568 (3/4 inch).

The main ProPress battery kit is catalog 72553; the PureFlow kit is 72543; and RIDGID also lists a combined ProPress/PureFlow kit. Catalog numbers can change by market or kit revision, so use them as verification aids rather than a substitute for the current RIDGID listing.

What the RP 115 should not be asked to replace

The Mini platform is attractive because it is small, but buying it only because it is the lightest option can become expensive if the next job requires a larger family. The current RIDGID matrix does not put MegaPress, RLS or large ProPress ring applications in the RP 115 column. Those jobs belong in Compact or Standard territory.

That makes the RP 115 strongest as a deliberately scoped service tool: high-frequency small connections where size and one-handed handling matter. It is less compelling as a contractor's only press platform if the work mix is unpredictable.
